BMW Door Lights

BMW LED door light projectors are LED bulbs that replace the factory courtesy light in the bottom edge of your BMW door panel. When the door opens, the light projects the BMW roundel — or M Sport, M Performance or 50th Anniversary badge — onto the ground beneath the door. They are a direct plug-and-play replacement for the OEM socket, requiring no drilling, no wiring and no iDrive coding.

No. All our BMW door lights include a built-in canbus decoder chip that prevents any “bulb failure” or “check control” warning on BMW iDrive, iDrive7 and NBT systems. They draw stable low current and are fully canbus compatible across all BMW series from 2000 to 2025.

Static lights project a fixed BMW roundel or M badge on the ground. Dynamic lights animate the projection as the door opens — creating a scrolling or fading entrance effect. Both are available in our collection. Dynamic versions are most popular on 5 Series and 7 Series models.

If your BMW has M Sport, M Performance or M badging on the exterior — choose the M Sport or M Performance badge version. If your car has standard BMW roundel badging — choose the standard roundel version. Choosing the version that matches your car’s actual badges gives the most authentic projection.

No coding, no drilling and no permanent modification required. Our BMW door lights are a direct plug-and-play replacement for the factory OEM door socket. Remove the original bulb, insert the LED projector, push back in. Under 10 minutes per door with only the included removal tool.

BMW door lights activate automatically when you open the door — they connect to the factory door switch circuit and require no manual switch. If your BMW came with factory puddle lights and you have replaced them with our LED projectors, they will activate the moment the door opens. If your BMW did not come with factory door lights, a wiring adapter may be required — contact us on WhatsApp (+852 5 443 1653) before ordering.

BMW door lights turn off automatically when the door is closed — they are powered by the door switch circuit, not a separate switch. There is no manual on/off control. If your door lights stay on after the door is closed, check that the door is fully latched and the door switch is functioning correctly. If the lights remain on, contact us and we will help diagnose the issue.

BMW welcome lights activate automatically when you unlock the car or open the door. On most BMW models from 2012 onwards, welcome lighting can also be adjusted through iDrive: go to iDrive → Vehicle Settings → Lighting → Welcome Lighting → set to On. If you have fitted our door projector lights and they are not activating, ensure the bulb is fully seated in the socket and the orientation notch is aligned correctly.
